Position Summary:

Fiscal Technician Senior assists with all aspects of fiscal management and budget oversight for the College of Architecture and Urban Studies. Duties include budget monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting; purchasing and accounts payable; accounts receivable; travel; payroll reconciliation; management of fiscal assets; data gathering and preparation of ad hoc financial reports; and assistance with other financial and administrative duties as requested. Position reports to the CAUS Business Manager.

Required Qualifications:

- Fiscal and/or administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial principles and procedures.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft office applications such as Excel.
- Demonstrated multi-tasking, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to audit, reconcile, detect errors, inconsistencies or discrepancies; to work independently with little supervision; maintain strict confidentiality; and produce work with a high degree of accuracy in a deadline oriented environment and within policy and budgetary limits.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in accounting, or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with financial and human resources information systems such as Banner or equivalent software.
- Experience such as working with payroll, travel reimbursement, and management of fixed assets.
- Experience with administration of sponsored research projects.
- Knowledge of university fiscal policies and procedures.
