Position Summary:

The Ni lab, in the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team. Our lab uses the fruit fly thermosensory system to understand the molecular mechanisms, cellular substrates and neuronal circuitry of thermoregulation.

Interested applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in neuroscience, molecular biology, or a related field. The Postdoctoral Associate’s responsibilities will include participating in our advanced research in thermosensation and thermoregulation, including: assistance in mentoring undergraduate research activities, data collection, contributing to/leading publications from studies, as well as contributing to development and submission of competitive proposals for additional funding. The position begins as early as June 2018.

Required Qualifications:

-PhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, or related field;
-Show excellent critical thinking, scholarly ability, and good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment;
-Demonstrated contributions to published studies.
-Familiarity with the development and submission of research proposals.
