Position Summary:

The Associate Director of University-wide Undergraduate Academic Programs is a 12-month administrative faculty position within Undergraduate Academic Affairs. The Associate Director provides strategic and operational leadership to the array of responsibilities in the Office of University-wide Undergraduate Academic Programs including first year experience programs, the University’s Common Book Project, academic based peer mentoring initiatives, and proactive coordination with student support and co-curricular units across the university.

The position requires an individual who has strong conceptual, analytical and integrative thinking skills especially with respect to first year students. The successful candidate will have proven success in effective teaching and learning and organizational experience in higher education.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a relevant field.

Knowledge of student development and excellence in academic activities related to undergraduate students.

Ability to conduct assessment of the effectiveness of student programs.

Success in managing large scale, complex projects from conception to implementation.

Success working in collaborative environments.

Leadership in effective teaching and learning.

Success in designing and implementing professional training and presentations.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in a relevant field.

College level teaching.

Record of scholarship in the area of first year students or a related field.

Expertise in experiential learning.

Expertise in mentoring programs for students.

Experience in managing budgets and/or grants programs.
