Position Summary:

This position is located at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center, located in Blackstone, Virginia. The position will provide support as an agricultural technician by collecting research information and maintaining research plots to include planting, irrigating, cultivating and harvesting. Duties include driving back and forth between research plots both on and off the AREC grounds to carry out these tasks.

Required Qualifications:

Experience and/or education in agriculture or basic science; Ability to perform duties required in the production and research of crops in fields, greenhouses, and laboratories; Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

Employment Comments:

Temporary Seasonal Positions-multiple positions available. Temporary employment of approx. 40 hours a week. Positions are located off-campus at the Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center, Blackstone VA.

Duties include driving back and forth between research plots both on and off the AREC grounds.
