Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Library Building Manager provides support for the daily operations of University Libraries by working with the University Facilities staff as well as contract groups such as the (contract housekeeping) BUDD Group. Assists with resetting of furniture, ordering and picks up office supplies, and gathering of items for process of surplus. Places tickets in an online ticketing system to request work to be completed for the library building. Works with Library Stack Supervisor to search and resolve issues with library material.

Required Qualifications:

- Experience working with online request forms.
- Experience working in a highly visible public service capacity environment with diverse population of people.
- Experience organizing and prioritizing work tasks with attention to detail; and in reporting progress and results to supervisors and managers while respecting confidentiality.
- Experience working without supervision and independently make decisions during shifts.
- Effective written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous work experience standing for extended periods of time, to safely and frequently move/handle heavy material, weighing 75 pounds or more.
- Working knowledge of Library of Congress classification system and/or previous work experience in a library.
- Ability to adapt readily to changes in workflow, responsibility, or assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with an Integrated Library System.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and software, including MS Word and Excel, Google Drive, Sheets, & Docs.
- Work experience in an academic library.
