Position Summary:

Provide support to the surplus property department in the development and success of inventory and surplus auctions.
Ensure accurate, safe, and responsible pickup of surplus property on and off campus. Verifies all items delivered to surplus warehouse; match quantities and description, on Surplus Property Report Form. Assist with arranging and numbering items for auction. Operates 5-ton truck in congested areas across campus. Use all types of moving equipment and carries heavy items. Assist with property control and inventory. Work with customers both internal and external in a courteous and professional manner.

Required Qualifications:

Experience with warehouse procedures, auctions, inventory and property control techniques. Demonstrated knowledge of routine warehouse operations. Experience operating a 5-ton box truck, forklifts and moving equipment. Ability to follow instructions, to work with minimal supervision, and safely move and handle up to 100 lbs. Customer service experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must have or be able to obtain powered industrial equipment license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with moving and hauling equipment (strap cart, appliance dollies, hydraulic lift gate), and with methods of moving property such as furniture, and computers.
