Position Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Development and External Engagement this position will gain valuable experience in all aspects of Intercollegiate Athletics Development and its operations. This position will assist with the daily internal function of the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund (VTAF). This highly motivated individual will primarily focus on helping grow Virginia Tech Athletic Annual Fund membership in the various programs. Primary responsibilities require focus on maintaining donor contact through various outlets, assist in developing giving strategies, assist VTAF staff with daily operations, and cultivate relationships with alumni as we seek to grow the donor base.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and/or Outlook.
Experience in customer service or sales.
Excellent communication skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
Availability to work nights and weekends.
This position requires some travel for special events and/or related donor activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in customer service, philanthropic activities, and/or secondary education.
Demonstrated experience working in Intercollegiate Athletics.
Knowledge and educational/informative use of Social Media such as Twitter.
