Candidates must have extensive experience in thin film deposition of magnetic materials or complex oxides (preferably by RF magnetron sputtering) and materials characterization (particularly X-ray diffraction). Candidates must also have excellent communication skills. Other preferred expertise includes microfabrication of thin film devices and characterization of spin-torque and related effects. A Ph.D. in physics, materials science, or a closely related field is required.

This research will be conducted with PI Satoru Emori and his students at Virginia Tech. The work will require close collaboration and interaction with students, postdocs, and faculty members in the Condensed Matter Experiment group and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
