Position Summary:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer (AVP&CFO), the Director of Facilities Data Analysis and Administration, leads the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the Facilities Department data. The position is responsible for:
• Directing all Facilities Department operations related to data administration, including developing and managing system modifications.
• Recommending courses of action for achieving strategic objectives within the department in support of university goals.
• Serving as the Facilities Department’s liaison to stakeholders throughout the university to communicate and coordinate data-related processes, initiatives, and/or changes.
• Cultivating and maintaining professional working relationships with the university’s central IT organization and other relevant stakeholders to improve communications and reduce barriers to shared success
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and university policies and procedures.

The position has direct oversight (including personnel, budgetary, and strategic leadership) for all units within the Facilities Data Administration area (14 FTEs). These units include Building and Space Data, Facilities Enterprise Systems, GIS, and Records and Plans Library.

Required Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Development, Public Administration, or related field; or Bachelor’s degree and experience equivalent to an Advanced degree.
- Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of data
- Expertise in data gathering and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently; excellent organizational and delegation skills; and ability to work collaboratively in a higher education environment
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with knowledge of computer applications for data analysis and report development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse community
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to develop and lead a strong team with a unified vision of continuous improvement
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous work experience in higher education
- Knowledge of Banner systems, HokieMart (SciQuest), HokieServ (AssetWorks), and MicroStrategy
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD)
- Experience working with the Library of Virginia and familiarity with state record retention guidelines
- Professional license (e.g., ITIL Foundation, CPA, CISA) or other relevant professional certification

- Additional hours or modified schedule may be required to meet the needs of the department.

Devices are to be used according to supervisor instruction and according to relevant policies.
