ICTAS has an exciting opening for an Athletic Trainer for the Helmet Laboratory research program. This position will serve youth sports teams in the area as part of our concussion injury research program. The Athletic Trainer will evaluate injuries and physical ailments; recommend, implement, and oversee treatment including preparing athletes to successfully return to participation after injury by fitting braces, pads, and constructing special protective equipment as necessary. The incumbent will be responsible for screening and referring athletes to team physicians; assisting in making appointments and arranging transportation to outside referral sources; coordinates rehab programs for injured or surgical cases with physicians; implement procedures on daily basis. The Athletic trainer will oversee practices and competitions, including taping, dressing, wraps, and pre- and post- practice care and treatment; treatment and rehabilitation of injuries; travels with team(s) as necessary.
The trainer will ensures that all treatment and status records on all athletes are updated. The incumbent manages daily medical reports for head coaches, physician, and others as appropriate; obtains and records physicians’ daily reports. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for cleaning and restocking items used daily in patient care, assisting in taking daily inventory of pharmacy, orders, and restocks items in physicians’ offices.
Assists in pre -participation physical exam of all varsity student-athletes. Obtains rosters, meeting times for squads, and assists physicians. Maintains rehabilitation equipment (cleaning, lubricating, and repair of equipment); supervises the design and production of special needs equipment and cleaning of facility. Assist with helmet testing research projects.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors in an accredited Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP).
- National Athletic Trainers Association certification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of engineers, student-athletes, coaches and staff.
- Must be able to recognize, evaluate, and care for athletic injuries and illnesses.
- Must have working knowledge of a wide variety of treatment modalities and rehabilitation equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Athletic training experience with youth sport teams.
