Position Summary:

The position specifically supports the mission of the Division of Student Affairs by enhancing the support and leadership to the fraternity and sorority community. Along with the team members in the office, the Assistant Director will serve as a resource for chapter advisors, faculty advisors, alumni/ae, parents, national representatives/volunteers, university administrators, staff/faculty, and the university community regarding the fraternity and sorority community. The position will provide leadership, advising, and strategic planning guidance to the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and member chapters. The position will be responsible for curriculum development and facilitation of leadership education programming as part of the Fraternal Leaders Institute series. Specifically, the position will be responsible for the infusion of multicultural competencies into leadership education and community development. With a focus upon the aspect of community development, the position will coordinate strategic communication efforts for the fraternity and sorority community and lead the awards and recognition process. The position will also represent Fraternity and Sorority Life on special division and university committees/projects.

The Assistant Director will directly supervise a Graduate Assistant, a part-time outreach coordinator, and intern students in the office. The Assistant Director will report to the Director.

Required Qualifications:

-The candidate should possess: a Masters degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs Administration or related field and demonstrated post-masters working experience in a Student Affairs related setting;
-Working with and/or advisement of fraternity and sorority councils and honor societies;
-Direct advising experience of a fraternity and or sorority community and relevant student affairs fields;
-Experience as a live-in housing professional; strong experience regarding leadership and supervision;
-Budget management experience;
-Outstanding communication, writing, presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Membership in a Greek-lettered collegiate men’s or women’s fraternal organization.
