Position Summary:

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine Web Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining websites for the college.
The position is expected to analyze website metrics from a user experience perspective, develop a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy, create visually engaging designs, implement an information hierarchy, manage and interact with social media services, and utilize cutting-edge technologies to reach desired audiences.
This position reports to the Director of Communications and Information Technology and will work with a variety of clients to both update and maintain their website as well as train on tools and best practices for them to update sites on their own. The position requires the ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse customer base.
The Web Manager must have strong knowledge of working within a content management system such as Adobe AEM as well as having a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Wordpress, and other web-languages. The Web Manager will also help develop and disseminate email campaigns.
The position is located on the Roanoke campus.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in web design, a related field and/or equivalent experience required.
Demonstrable experience in web development and design and in the following technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, and structured database knowledge.
Experiences using best practices in search engine optimization and web analytics.
Must be a self-initiated team player with strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills. Capable of prioritizing multiple complex problems and meeting deadlines. Demonstrates excellent organization and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Project Management.
Experience in Adobe Experience Manager.
Strong understanding of the social media experience.
Experience working in higher education environment.
