Position Summary:

Serve as a focal point in collaborative venture between areas within the Student Affairs to ensure quality of program, processes, and procedures with a goal of continual improvement and transparency to colleagues, students and other constituents.

Actively reviews policies / protocols within Student Affairs and intersections of departmental activities with other university operations to ensure congruence of policy and practice. Leads or collaborates with working/task groups to suggest and assist in the implementation of changes agreed upon by those involved and/or the approval of the senior leadership.

Serve as the technical and process management lead within the Student Affairs. Use skills to blend the function and technical aspects of processes and procedures. Serve as a departmental resource for improved process management for service delivery to internal and external customers.
Review, suggest, and implement changes to Student Affairs operations. Design and create web applications to improve customer experience as well as internal systems. Coordinate projects from concept to completion. Configure vendor hosted systems, custom reporting/data extracts and support of special user needs. Collaborate with other operational areas and the Division of Students Affairs IT staff to ensure that IT resources (database, web, and systems) are available, secured, and appropriately managed.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
-Experience developing small to medium web applications.
-Familiarity with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) systems.
-Demonstrable experience with the following technologies:
a. Apache Web Server and IIS web service deployment and maintenance
b. Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
c. Web languages such as HTML, XML, CSS, Java, PHP, and JavaScript
d. Version control systems such as Git and Github
e. Web frameworks such as jQuery, Drupal, CodeIgniter, or equivalent
f. SharePoint deployment and application development

-Independent problem solving and trouble shooting skills
-Thorough understanding of human centered design
-Complex project management capacity
-Solid consulting experience
-Enterprise-Level data management and analytical skills
-Strong communication and personal skills
-Understanding of Data Mining and Statistical Methods
-Web application development and implementation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Deep and broad knowledge of system design for physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure. Ability to apply principles related to data mining, business intelligence, and mobile/web development to the Division of Student Affairs areas.

Working knowledge of Microsoft’s Office 365 platform. Completion of SharePoint Site Collection Administrator training. Basic understanding of the SharePoint Online licensing model and application concepts.

Proven experiences in working with information technology resources for complex business organizations and in solving challenging problems related to system security, data loss prevention, identify loss prevention, and network security.
