Position Summary:

The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Agent. The Accounts Receivable Agent will work under the direction of the Hotel Controller and with the Sales Department, Food and Beverage, Front Desk and other accounting staff to ensure that all hotel accounts receivable are properly recorded into OPERA and billed in an accurate and timely manner and that all money owed to the hotel is received and credited on a timely basis. This position will also perform additional accounting duties as part of the hotel accounting team.

Required Qualifications:

Previous accounting experience with demonstrated knowledge of standard accounting practices and procedures; proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Word and Excel; must possess good customer service skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with hotel departments, University departments and outside contacts; the successful candidate must be detail and deadline oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

Accounts receivable/billing and collections experience; experience with large database systems such as Banner Finance, OPERA, or Delphi.
