The Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute (VTCRI) is seeking a part-time salaried (32-hour/week with benefits) Office Assistant/Receptionist. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide reception support for the Executive Director and VTCRI administrative offices by greeting visitors, managing research participant traffic, answering phones, scheduling meetings, filing, maintaining orderly office supplies, and distributing mail. In addition to this primary responsibility this position will also provide assistance to one of two VTCRI administrative tracks, depending on qualifications and skill set, in either Finance or Human Resources (HR).
The Finance track would entail tracking and processing reimbursements, scanning incoming invoices, researching invoice issues, and other support as needed. The HR track would entail maintaining employee directories, maintaining monthly leave records, supporting the HR Manager in completion of new hire paperwork, wage time-card processes. The Office Assistant/ Receptionist will also provide back-up support to other administrative staff as needed. This position requires a commitment to customer service, attention to detail and time management skills.
