Reviews, processes and reconciles monthly Banner accounts using Quicken accounting program and spreadsheets for accuracy and consistency. Reconciles state teaching, research, extension, overhead, and grant accounts. Notifies faculty of problems and deadlines on grants. Works with Sponsored Programs on compliance with grant requirements and regulations to resolve problems. Audits and reviews fiscal transactions and documents for accuracy and to meet established procedures and policies. Monitors and inputs daily expenditures and deposits for accounts. Handles revenue and prepare deposits in compliance with Funds Handling procedures. This position will report and support the Department Head with fiscal/analytical needs.
BS Degree in accounting, or applicable field; Experience and knowledge of advanced accounting principles and practices; Experience in the preparation of financial and budgetary reports; Demonstrated experience in MS Excel, Access, and Quicken; Ability to learn other software as needed; Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele; Strong problem solving skills.
Experience with Banner Finance, Banner HR, Hokiemart, TimeClock Plus; Experience providing financial support in an academic/research environment.
