Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for teaching 18-24 credit hours of courses per year centered in undergraduate entrepreneurship. Courses include Cornerstones of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Developing Entrepreneurial Ventures, Managing Technology Commercialization, Social Entrepreneurship and others. The individual hired will serve on departmental, college, or university committees and support student programming in the Apex Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Professors of Practice are expected to interact with industry professionals and remain active in their professions in ways that contribute to their university assignments; examples include executive teaching, industry consulting, and serving in professional societies or associations. This is a non-tenure track, academic year position; not intended for tenure transfer but advancement in rank is achievable.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should have (1) a Master’s Degree, (2) demonstrated effectiveness in the delivery of business and/or entrepreneurship instruction, (3) excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated leadership in business and the community.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have entrepreneurial experience and at least three years of undergraduate teaching experience in entrepreneurship or related field or equivalent. A doctorate degree in a business management field may be beneficial depending on the candidate’s other qualifications. Demonstrated outreach and involvement in community activities, extensive industry networks, and evidence of success in developing programs are desireable.
